Volunteers

Rebuilding Together Northwest Nevada needs skilled, general and behind-the-scenes volunteers in order to keep homeowners warm, safe, and dry. Join in deliberate acts of kindness. As RTNN volunteers finish their work, they carry with them a sense of accomplishment, the joy that comes from helping someone, and the need to do more.

HOUSE MANAGEMENT TEAMS (HMTs)

House Management Teams are the backbone of RTNN, providing volunteer leadership by adopting one or more homeowner projects each year. HMTs participate in homeowner selection; work scope development; and volunteer recruitment as well as execute all aspects of the repair work.

To learn more about becoming a team leader (lead organizer of a House Management Team) and/or recruiting your corporation or congregation to become a HMT, review the outline of HMT expectations.  Follow the link below if you and your group may be interested in becoming a House Management Team.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

General Volunteers

Are you interested, but unsure of your repair skills? No matter. All we require is a willingness to roll up one's sleeves. Everyone can contribute to the effort. In some cases general volunteers work with and learn from a skilled tradesperson. Others work independently or within a small group on projects such as demolition, painting, house cleaning, etc.

Skilled Volunteers

Does a new power tool makes your heart beat faster (in a good way)?:

RTNN seeks volunteers skilled in the following trades to help make repairs:

  • Carpentry
  • Electrical wiring
  • Plumbing
  • Roofing

Skilled volunteers are essential to defining realistic work scopes, leading teams through the proper sequence of repairs, and just plain old doing those tasks that most volunteers don't know how to do.

Behind the Scenes Volunteers

Do you love to organize “job jars" for other people:

RTNN seeks volunteers skilled in organizing people and projects to work on the following:

  • Community/Volunteer Outreach
  • Fund Raising
  • Homeowner Relations/Logistics
  • Public Relations

Behind-the-scenes volunteers are essential to communicating with homeowners and community groups, promoting the work volunteers do, and getting others to make gifts and grants.

We also have opportunities for volunteers who wish to commit to a higher role.
